Hyde Announces Subcommittee Chairs
New Terrorism Subcommittee Led by Rep. Gallegly
(WASHINGTON) -- U.S. Rep. Henry J. Hyde (R-IL), chairman
of the House International Relations Committee, announced a reorganization of
the committee on Monday, including the creation of a subcommittee to monitor
Hyde named U.S. Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-CA) to be
chairman of the new Subcommittee on International Terrorism, Nonproliferation
and Human Rights. "Mr. Gallegly brings a wealth of experience from both this
committee and from his membership on the House Judiciary Committee. He is
uniquely qualified to spearhead this committees efforts to monitor the
terrorism threat around the world and how America should respond," Hyde said.

Middle East and Central Asia; U.S. Rep. Cass Ballenger (R-NC),
chairman of the Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere; and U.S. Rep.
Edward R. Royce, chairman of the Subcommittee on Africa.
